Character oak sleepers combine the strength of solid new oak with natural features such as knots, splits and grain variation. Each sleeper measures 2.4m x 200mm x 100mm, a standard size that makes them easy to build with.
Oak is a dense hardwood, so it lasts well outdoors and weathers to a soft silver-grey if left untreated. Use them for raised beds, borders, garden steps, retaining walls and outdoor seating. New oak has no railway treatment history, so it’s a good choice for family gardens.
